6-months!!

Tate,

You are now 6-months-old!! Last Sunday you turned 1/2 a year old! Hard to believe, it is going by so fast! You were not very "cooperative" for your photo shoot with Mr. Bear. We took family pictures too for Christmas pictures and we did get some cute ones. Here are the Mr. Bear and 6-months pictures though!

You went to the doctor on Friday and here are your latest stats:

• Weight: 17lbs. 3oz. (75th percentile)
• Length: 25 3/8 inches (25-20th percentile)
• Head: 16 5/8 inches (50th percentile)

You are now eating twice a day and having lots of puffs in the meantime, if you are hungry! Yesterday you almost them into your mouth by yourself. Right now you are working on it....you are sucking them and getting them wet!! You get really frustrated when your bottle is over and if we don't feed you fast enough!

 In the mornings around 10am you have your morning fruit with some cereal. Then at night before bed we give you a vegetable and cereal. The doctor said you could eat twice a day. I'm not sure if that means two tubs of baby food or just two meals. You LOVE to eat though! I may split up one container for breakfast and lunch and that way you are eating "two" meals technically!! So far you have had: peaches, applesauce, bananas, squash, green beans, peas, carrots, sweet potatoes, and pears. I think that's everything. Oh, and biter biscuits. You also had graham crackers and bread in the past week. You LOVED that!!

Yesterday you fully held your bottle by yourself. Daddy handed it to you and you just started holding it!
On December 4th, was the first time you did that. It fell out and when Mama Sherry looked up you had your bottle you were putting it back in. Yesterday was the first time it was full and you tried it. You hold your arms
You still eat every 3 hours like clockwork during the day. You do sleep completely through the night though, usually!! You have been good about that for months!

You are getting so big! You can almost sit up independently. You do great, but have a tendency to fall backwards, so we aren't doing it without someone sitting by! You are scooting backwards. You love to sit in your car walker and beep the horn! Daddy put the wheels on this week and you are scooting around!
You are talking more and more. You sound like you are trying to say "uh oh" which is what we have been working on! And "yeah" too. No, "mama" or "dada" yet, but it will come soon I'm sure!
You love to turn around when you are on your tummy and are flipping from your tummy to back. You are working on getting from your back to your tummy, you just haven't quite figured it out yet!

Last night you were sitting in Daddy's lap and trying to watch t.v. upside down! We were cracking up! You love to look at our pictures (especially the one at the top of the blog) and laugh! You are beginning to respond when we call your name.

You love your thumb! You suck that most of the time. At night you will take your paci, because you are swaddles and can't get to your arms! You don't sleep unless you are swaddled, so we will keep doing that! These last couple of weeks you have been sucking a paci some because your gums have been hurting. You don't have any teeth yet but you act like it could be any day!

We took you to Massachusettes for Thanksgiving to see Uncle Jace. I will do a whole separate post about that, but you didn't even cry when you saw him!

You are working SO hard right now on getting a puff into your mouth...it's so funny! You are becoming such a big girl!

Thoughts

We are officially snowed in here in VA. We have about 10-12 inches of snow on the ground. This is Tate's first snow! She didn't go out to play in it today though. Ben went out and cleared off the car and some of the front, but we sat inside! Jake and Allie (the dogs) are having a good time outside running through it all!

I have been wanting to blog over the past week or so, but I feel so torn between what I want to "record" as a journal for Tate and all of her "firsts" and just writing to get my thoughts on "paper". I think part of it is me being tending to be a perfectionist and wanting to do it in an accurate way. I love reading blogs, but at times trying to put everything down that I want to seems so overwhelming.

Being a first time mom and working full-time, I feel like I am constantly trying to "remember" everything and record everything. Almost to the point of I know I will never be able to record it all so why bother, but I have to, so I write it down and never get online to "blog" it.

Tate did hold her bottle all by herself today! Ben handed it to her in her car walker and she held it up and started drinking! She has been doing it some, but not able to hold the whole thing before. She also loves puffs. She started them last week and has the BEST time eating them! You can eat like 67 for 25 calories, Mom told me, so she can eat 1/2 the can and it won't really matter! Today she was trying to put them in her mouth after she picked them up. She got some of it in her mouth, but I don't think she actually got one in her mouth fully. She is 6 months now! I can't believe it!

Quick note!

I can't believe how long it has been since I've blogged. I am always afraid of starting something and not doing it the right way and I guess I need to get over that!! It's been a busy few weeks around here. I have 6 more days of school before Christmas break, Tate turns 6 months on Sunday, Thanksgiving trip to Massachusettes was really fun and that's a whole post in inself!

I'll be back this weekend with more details, right now I am just too tired!!
